Finished making the caramel apple blondie cheesecake I was working on last week. It was delicious; I ate the last slice for breakfast today (like a grownup.)

Made peach pie, currently cooling.

Regular Thursday worship reminder email.

Conducted straw poll and counted votes at congregational meeting Sunday.

Had lots of ideas for writing and vidding, none of which I implemented.

(I'm aware I keep tossing memes out there and not necessarily responding. I'm trying really hard to jumpstart the creative part of my brain.

If I buy BtVS for $80 and FF for $20, will I actually write Jossverse fic again?

1. So I did indeed check out one of the other sources that my Yuletide recipient requested, and I was quite charmed. Unfortunately, of all the possible stories for that fandom or for the fandom we matched on, the ones that are pinging me hardest are absurd crossover-fusions between the two fandoms that are superficially chronologically compatible, are SO ABSURDLY DIFFERENT IN TONE that crossover-fusions would be... okay, they would be lovely and delightful, and I am absolutely in love with a particular way this could work and have started writing it, and this is why my brain shouldn't be allowed out in public.

2. I broke Rule #1 and read the comments on some trans-related blog posts (not noting which ones, because I know the first thing I would do would be click the link and read the comments, and I don't want to inflict that on anyone else), and now I feel vaguely ill. (DO NOT READ THE COMMENTS, SELF.

3. Meanwhile it's not often that you get two Fridays in one week, but this week is a happy exception (that's my positive spin on having to work today.)

A new President... 100! There are 100 rooms in the white house. 100 is very happy. His family is very happy. 28 ran for president. He is sad before 100 became president. He laid a rose on 10's grave. It was on the [indecipherable] had a wife named Molly.

100 signed a law. 28 got more votes than 100, but 100 got more elecdrol [sic] votes. The law is that bosses have to pay more money to people that have families. And even more money to people that have children. 100 has a daughter named Chelsy. It is Chelsy's birthday. Some people are plotting against 100. Guess what - 28 is one of them! It's in every newspaper. Chelsy was screaming. They tried to get in last night. The Secret Service just barely stopped the. Chelsy has a new bed.

One of the secret service is a spy on 100. He lets the rest of the gang hang out in a room in the white house.

100 couldn't sleep last night. Chelse tiptoed out last night.

Shy caught a spy closing the door. Tonight Chelse got [indecipherable] She hid behind the door.

When the gang came, she listened carefully to what they said. Then she wrote on a piece of paper she brought. They said, "Let's try to get him tomorrow." That was enough. She tiptoed out of the room. The next day she ran to her father's office. She said, "Father, father, today the spies want to get you."

"How did you find out?"

It was too late. A hand reached out for 100!

"I told you, Father," said Celse.

"Do not be afraid," said the Secret Service. spie.

Just then Celse turned around her father was not there.

Molly said she was in the kitchen. So Celsey ran to the kitchen. Where was olly?

There was a note:

Dear Celsey,
I'm at the pool."

Celsey ran to the pool. Just as Celsey was about to warn her, a hand reached out and just like that Molly was gone.

"Yiks [sic]!" she said. She ran back to bed. She hugged her teddy bear and went to sleep. She went out to play with a secret service. All of a sudden Chelsy saw a hole! She looked inside. There was her father and mother. Celsy ran to get the phone. She called the police. The police arrested the bad guys. And lived happily ever after.

P.S.

The bad guys only got ten years of jail. And there was a new president. 15 was her name. And 100 died. 100's grave was in the hole.

15 lived happily as she lived.

That was the first real story I wrote. It took me a whole month and I was really, really proud of it -- other people were journaling to the daily prompts about whatever, but me, I was grinding away on the story of 100 and his daughter Chelsy Celsy Chelsea. I think it's really stood the test of time, don't you?

Don't ask about NaNo. Or, ask me about sparkly Lutheran vampires, but don't ask me about wordcount!

I signed up for Yuletide at the very exact last minute, figuring that if I wasn't meant to do Yuletide this year, I wouldn't finish my sign-up in time. Apparently the universe wants more Ari-fic! (Girlfriend says the universe is a better place with more Ari-fic in it, and there certainly hasn't been an abundance of it this year!)

1. I have looked at hundreds of Dear Yuletide Author letters and starred 20 that I might want to try my hand at for Yuletide Treats.

3. Must go to library to return books for self, girl. Also not borrow any more books, because stack is already big enough + NaNo + Sekrit Yuletide Source [unless Sekrit Yuletide Source is a movie, commercial, song, or obscure RPFandom without any canon, in which case, it does not require great outpourings of energy. However if it is comic(s), book(s), or TV show, then will require great outlay of time. Unless it's the BSC, in which case I could whip out 1000 words in half an hour without rereading any of the books (although I would totally reread them anyhow.)]

4. Phone with Elizabeth now. \o/

1. I wish LJ would stop randomly switching my viewing pref to things that aren't Dystopia. *CLINGS okay*

2. I may have signed up for remixthedrabble a bit ago. I worked on it yesterday -- have completed required assignment, have various ideas for extras. Yay!

3. I registered at NaNoWriMo. I won in 2005 (some of you will remember the gleee! with which I created a novel from nothing in 16 days. If I acquire a job that prevents me from devoting all my time from writing, I am excused. Otherwise, I will be in the 1666/day crowd!

If I could think of a premise that would be nice. (I would say "a plot," but that would be overly optimistic.)

4. Dad emailed me to let me know my birthday package from him and the kidlet has been mailed! :)

6. I keep on thinking of ridiculous projects that I will definitely neverever actually accomplish. Not that this is news or anything.

Possibly attainable goal: finish writing up 2007-in-fic before it's time for the annual holiday-card-request post.

With huge, huge thanks to sangerin and yhlee, my purimgifts giftlets are COMPLETE. I just emailed them to the mod. Oh my goodness I am so relieved. I have three overdue fics (deep, deep shame), but those are done ON TIME.

I'm not even going to speculate what this means for my mental health. Now is not the time. Now is the time to rejoice, for I will make someone's Purim happy.
