I have cramps and they hurt and I'm tired and I can't drink coffee because I just told everyone I was cutting back and I can't go to bed because of my new improved lifestyle plan but my uterus hurts and I need to write Secret Slasha.

Moments later: okay, decided to take Ibuprofin and drink herbal tea and change the pairing of my Secret Slasha story, and all these things are helpful.

So, haz a poll:

[hey guys, did you know I have a "Calm/meditative" icon? For some reason I rarely use it!]

*hugs*

I love nearly all of the Christmas hymns and sacred music -- especially those where I can sing along in harmony -- but most of the pop stuff... well, I'm somewhere between indifferent and "oh please let me never hear that again as long as I live." *g*

My favorite Christmas song seems to be relatively obscure, so I'm linking you to the LJ post where I included the words to it, in case you don't recognize it.

...there are about a million more I love almost as much though. (Except I kind of only love We Three Kings because of the silly words we used to make up during Christmas masses and give ourselves the church giggles like whoa. God I miss being ten and happy.)

Ibuprofen is your friend--I've never understood why some women seem to feel guilty about taking painkillers for their cramps. I find that two ibuprofen and one acetaminophen (Tylenol) works better than ibuprofen alone.

My favorite carol used to be "Silent Night," but I'm becoming more and more fond of "O Come All Ye Faithful."

I like Little Drummer Boy. Also, the Carol of the Bells, and the Holy and the Ivy.

Actually, it seems just about every traditional Christmas carol. Maybe because carols services are the only times I get to sing anymore. Plus, summer evenings in the park with candles are gorgeous.

One year I was at one where they say "Castle on a Cloud" from Les Mis, which was WTF? enough without them having spelled "Cosette" as "Cos-ette". I was appalled.

I was thinking that I don't like any Christmas songs, but I like "War is Over". They made a really creepy road safety ad with it one year. Within a couple of years of my brother singing it in a major carols service with the choir he was in.
