I dreamed that the girlfriend and I were finally catching up on Stargate: SG-1 and we started right in the middle of S... 9? 10? Or something.

Anyhow, it opened with MShanks and BBrowder (okay, okay, Daniel and Cameron, but srsly my brain was parsing it as the actors) in the middle of having sex. Like, really, really screen-meltingly hot naked-and-groping (but without any actual Bits because then Skiffy couldn't air it, yeah?) sex.

Like, I would be catching up on SG-1 NOW if this were true.

Sigh.

(Then the dream digressed into this whole... Baby-Sitters Club [there was CUDDLING WITH MARY ANNE!]/kidnapped-by-my-grandparents tropical vacation with fantasy elements [ghost puppies?] and Claudia designing outfits and like, painting her jeans black [and Claudia was FRELLING GORGEOUS; her hair is like a dream come true] and I don't even know.]

Opened presents from my mom. I now haz:

I heard the theme music and my heart swelled. I'm Joss's girl through and through; BtVS is my favorite show in the world and Farscape the most artistically wonderful, but... West Wing has a place in my heart that's not going away.

What happened in S5? I have no idea...

I had till this minute not IMDb'd Enrico Colantoni (plays Keith on VMars) but I just did to look up how to spell his name so I could guh over him, and then for interest looked through roles and he played Burke in the SG-1 episode "Evolution part 2." BURKE, you guys. Burke who I have been saying since approximately forever (okay, I said it once, when I first last and only saw the episode) should have OTP with Jack.

I. I really need to watch Evolution II again, like right now, and get right on the writing Jack/Burke thing. [And this is a really blatant and obvious and interesting example of, isn't it amazing how much more interesting and sexually desirable characters can become when their actors play other characters who are interesting and attractive for different reasons? I'm sure this isn't just me, right? Like how the first time I saw American Beauty, I in no way realized it was all about the tragedy of That Woman Who Lived Across The Street who was so unhappy and lost and empty and brilliantly acted by Allison Janney (plays CJ Cregg on West Wing)]

1. SG-1 has been canceled. I'll still have one and a half seasons to go till I get to the last episode and still no clue when that'll happen, so the news isn't really very real to me. I'm... not too surprised or appalled, though.

I was really hoping I'd read lots more? But I didn't. But here are two more fics that I enjoyed.

too much, too soft (fogged up version) by Gin, is the remix of too much, too soft by shadowen. Firefly, Mal/Inara, this isn't what I would normally read, but I quite liked the Mal-voice and the first few paragraphs, especially.

Revelations (The Divided Remix) by panisdead is a remix of Revelations by etben. (SGA, R for extremely dark themes.) The originally story is dark and powerful, but falls short in the last two sections. The remix takes a new point of view and attempts to explain where the darkness comes from. I'm still not sure I entirely buy it, but the remix is incredibly ambitious and executed well.
