[livejournal.com profile] scrollgirl asked for my favorite five Bible verses.

1. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4
2. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
3. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. Genesis 1:31a
4. Most of Proverbs 8. Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence, rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind Proverbs 8:30-31.
5. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior is born to you; he is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:10-11

And three others that I enjoy for different reasons (including two favorite gruesome and gory Bible passages from my frelled-up childhood:)

1. I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women. 2 Samuel 2:26
2. But Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me. Ruth 1:16-17
3. Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher)
4. With their own hands compassionate women have cooked their own children, who became their food. Lamentations 4:10
5. But Jael, Heber's wife, picked up a tent peg and went quietly to him while he lay fast asleep, exhausted. She drove the peg through his temple into the ground, and he died. Judges 4:21

[livejournal.com profile] silent_chris asked for five fictional characters I wish would run for office.
1. CJ. That would get me interested in politics, seriously it would! When CJ yells for me to rock the vote, it sends a shiver right up my spine. Yessir.
2. Lest we make this entirely about the cast of West Wing, General Hammond. Because seriously, that's the kind of honor and nobility and intelligence we need in public office.
3. Jed Bartlet. But I think that goes without saying.
4. Elizabeth Weir
5. Keith Mars

[livejournal.com profile] sage_theory wanted the Top Five Fictional Women [I'd] Go Out With In a Heartbeat:
1. CJ Cregg
2. Tara Maclay
3. Fred Burkle
4. Kaylee Frye
5. Lisa Cuddy Elizabeth Weir Sam Carter Willow Rosenberg I so can't decide can I?

Also for Meg, top five episodes from any show ever:
1. "Once More, With Feeling"
2. "Unrealized Realities"
3. Peacekeeper Wars
4. "Not Fade Away"
5. "The Eye" Why, you ask? Why does "The Eye" go up there with singing, dancing, flashbacking crazy AU big space battles and character death? Because it has cuddling in the rain, that's why! A close sixth is "The Black Vera Wang," because it has The Black Vera Wang in it and and CJ in the Vera Wang.

Flist: Wow, Ari, you are completely shallow.
Ari: Yep, thanks for noticing!

Any of those five (well, except for the one that I don't know anything about, but I'll take your word for it) would make the absolute best politicians ever. Can you imagine an CJ-Hammond tag-team in the Senate? They wouldn't know what hit them Also, Jed for prez with Elizabeth as his VP would be the highest concentration of smart ever amassed in the White House: it would be brilliant.

I'd absolutely vote for Bartlet if he could run for real. CJ, too. And Hammond, and that's despite assuming he'd be a Republican. Good list there.

Incidentally, I finally got around to posting this in my journal if you'd like to ask me anything.

I have another LJ, one I use for church people, called Blessed Jael and I have Judges 4 in my userinfo :) *hearts this gory story* Have you ever read Aritha van Herk's novel The Tent Peg? I read it in high school and was deeply affected, though I haven't re-read since then.

I love all your verses. *beams at you*

Also? Rock The Vote. Our federal election is January 23.

Be the episodes in order?

Also, oh she who has all knowledge, how many mentions of canaballism are there in the Bible? I seem to have forgotton.
