The requests for sga_santa are showing up on my flist! I'm not signing up for three very good reasons:
1. Almost two years behind on canon.
2. Graduate student and insanely busy.
3. Still skewed entirely away from fandom and its OTP.

BUT I am so pleased with the nature of the sign-ups (though I don't think the OTP has even been mentioned) BECAUSE people seem to be being really polite! It always causes me stress in ficathon sign-ups when people feel the need to say, "I won't write Spike/Xander because ewwwwwww gross!" or "Please no Sam/Daniel - they're like siblings!" And none of the sga_santa signups have caused me to flail in that manner! Awesome!

Not so awesome is all the work I have to do this afternoon. Blech.

I've been watching the sga_santa stuff go by my flist too. I'm not signing up myself because I write at the approximate speed of an elderly snail, but, yeah, I've been really happy with the civility of the requests this year. I've only seen one that made me really grit my teeth and roll my eyes, which is a definite improvement over how these things usually go.

Reason #4 for me is "totally blocked on all fannish output," but I'm pretending that signing up for 2 or 3 secret santas will solve that problem. Yeah.

But yes! Yay for SGA fandom civility!

And I'm totally mellowing in my fannish old age or something, because the OT3 in your icon is totally making me squeal. :)

Heh. I know what you're saying, but I really do like that I'm seeing a fair amount of "No M/S" in the requests. Since I don't want to write it, I'm leaning heavily towards signing up.

Ack, now I'm angsting. Do I sign up? Or will it make me cry? (I have a sad feeling the answer will turn out to be yes to both.)
