I am finally taking advantage of my 2-year-old LibraryThing account. I did all my fiction the other day and now I am doing the nonfiction, which is a lot more fun to tag. Except for how I can't resist using my powers for evil.

The fiction also got me lots of similar users/recs that were like, "you like L.M Montgomery WAY TOO MUCH" and my median obscurity was at like 350 (users sharing this book). Now that I'm one shelf into the nonfic, my obscurity median has fallen to like 150 and I don't understand. I'm like "BUT THIS BOOK IS AWESOME. Why doesn't everyone have an intensive theology library?" God, I wish I had a better theology library. And could take more books with me. I am showing tremendous restraint.

(Except in tagging All the Women in the Bible by Edith Deen. What can I say. My hate for that book is kind of epic.)

I also noticed that I'm tagging boring religion books with "religious studies". Because in the theology vs. religious studies methodology debate? I think I know where I stand.

Oh books. I love you so much. <3

*handwavy* lesson this morning went okay. Could have been lots lots worse.

I am leaving behind CDs filled with episodes that:
+my girlfriend also has on CD.
+and on VHS.
+and in most cases on DVD.

I am leaving them with the kidlet. She can send them to us if for some reason Gvambat's CDs and tapes and DVDs go bad all at once. Not to mention new DVDs are purchasable! It's not like these are really arcane source texts or anything.

Nor is it like we are frequently struck with the urge to watch "Jeremiah Crichton," you know?

[As a sidenote, the gf is [livejournal.com profile] gvambat (I mean, you can try to stalk if you want, but almost everything from 2006 on is flocked and she hasn't updated in a year or so) and so I've sometimes called her Gvambat here. Sometimes I've called her Roommate, which is less confusing when we're actually living together. Lately I've called her just my girlfriend for minimal confusion. When we're living together again, I'll probably go back to calling her Roommate because that is what we call each other.

You think I am kidding but no.

Gvambat: What does my roommate want for dinner?
Ari: I don't know, whatever roommate wants.]

So I tossed most of my Girl Scout badges and patches -- seriously, not that eager to fondly reminisce about magazine sales or the time I registered "on time" -- yes, totally patch-worthy -- but I am keeping a couple -- the straight "Girl Scouts" one, my pins, my bridging RAINBOW, and this one badge that is especially gay )
