I am finally taking advantage of my 2-year-old LibraryThing account. I did all my fiction the other day and now I am doing the nonfiction, which is a lot more fun to tag. Except for how I can't resist using my powers for evil.

The fiction also got me lots of similar users/recs that were like, "you like L.M Montgomery WAY TOO MUCH" and my median obscurity was at like 350 (users sharing this book). Now that I'm one shelf into the nonfic, my obscurity median has fallen to like 150 and I don't understand. I'm like "BUT THIS BOOK IS AWESOME. Why doesn't everyone have an intensive theology library?" God, I wish I had a better theology library. And could take more books with me. I am showing tremendous restraint.

(Except in tagging All the Women in the Bible by Edith Deen. What can I say. My hate for that book is kind of epic.)

I also noticed that I'm tagging boring religion books with "religious studies". Because in the theology vs. religious studies methodology debate? I think I know where I stand.

I am of course v. pleased that you are finally adding the rest of your physical library to your LibraryThing :)

I think my true love is GoodReads, but I also really appreciate LibraryThing.

I debated transferring to goodreads instead of subscribing to the family business librarything, but ultimately what I want to do is keep a record of which books are here and which are in KS City and librarything seems ideal.

I use them supplementarily -- LT has my entire physical library, and GR has reviews and ToRead.

You can't throw out books! And we get an occasional giggle out of looking at it and grinning at the stab wounds we inflicted. (I failed to underline the most offensive passages, and the thought of rereading makes me cringe a little, so sadly I can't read out the awesome that is her fail.)

You give books away to Goodwill or wherever :P I'm a total packrat, but I have no interest in keeping books I will never refer back to (and point-and-laugh does not count sufficient for "refer back to").
