I'd been sort of wondering about "bb" myself, 'cause one of my friends is all into bandom now and peppers her posts with that and I wasn't quite sure how to parse it (an endearment, obv., but y'know).
[Addendum: Can I tag this entry "bandom," or did you actually see the usage elsewhere?]
If it's young people using internet slang, it's baby. If it's older people, it might be best beloved, along the lines of DH for dear husband/hubby, DD for dear daughter, DS for dear son, etc.
I knew immediately, in terms of context of what someone was writing it, what it meant. Then again, there's a lot of places I go where those kinds of Internet slang is used a lot. Most times used in an affectionate/silly way or in a mocking/macros kind of manner.
