invisionary, for correctly guessing that "Rosetta" was mine, you are entitled to one Buffyverse slash fic in the flavor of your choice. Name a pairing and any other details, and the fic is yours!
lunabee34, I've modified my own rules for you. For correctly guessing that "Sweet, Salt, and Bitter" was mine, you are entitled to one fic in the Yuletide eligible fandom of your choice. Name your fandom, preferred characters or pairing, some details if any, and some advice on how to find the fandom if it's difficult, and the fic is yours!

Thanks to all for playing along. I'm so tickled that you three found my fics. :)

And the obligatory Yuletide discussion:
So yes. This year's Yuletide feels SO weird. I don't even have coherent thoughts about it, just some random statistic-like thoughts:
+As mentioned in hints, two girlslash (BSC and Bible), two boyslash (both with Jesus), five het (various) and one gen (BSC).
+I thought I had exactly one Claudia/Ben story in me -- I wrote it for Pretty Lights last year -- but apparently? I had two. This may become a December tradition!
+Three stories in sci-fi-ish fandoms (Andromeda, Dark Angel, and skiffy RPF), three in Bible or Bible-based fandoms, two in the BSC, one Little Women, and one Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.
+I've written in all these fandoms before except for Bible - original series, Bible - NT, and Jesus Christ Superstar. This strikes me as hilarious. Both that, hi, I play Yuletide all year round and also, the fandoms that are actually in my field of study? Never written, like that means I'm brand new to playing with them. (I have written some NT midrash before, for school mostly, but I've never claimed it as fic.)
+On that note, I feel like a lot of these stories have religious themes. Fully half, probably -- the three in Bible-based fandoms (although the religious content in "Sweet, Salt, and Bitter" is a little thin), the Hanukkah story, and of course, "Natural Theology."
+"Natural Theology" was the last-minute star. Uploaded at the last minute, failed to make it into the archive properly, and was sort of indifferently popular until within the past couple of days it made an amazing leap, surpassing "Abby's Hanukkah Tales!" as the most popular story I wrote this year. I think that the story people are reading is not quite the story I wrote, but I'm okay with that. I am really, really pleased with the response it's received, and with the sense it has of being an apologetic piece (which, of course, it is). I'm especially touched by
eponis's rec here, in which she says this is "something that theology needs more of." It's probably obvious to most who read here that I'm in the midst of a vocational crisis about whether the theological academy is the right place for me, and it's so affirming to hear that even if I'm not formally a part of said academy, I will always be a theologian. And I do believe that.T They also serve who write fanfic about obscure TV shows.
+Right, so my officially assigned story? Little Women twincest! Since I requested incest for Yuletide, it was only fair that I had to write some -- and I enjoyed it a lot. I was glad I was writing for someone on my flist --
jamie_dakin -- and that I had written Little Women before and had some confidence in the voice. It turned out not to be difficult to write, per se, but definitely made me think harder about both twins. Daisy, it turned out, was a cipher in my mind; before I could wrap my head around her I needed to see her through Demi's eyes. Hm.
But the important points are:
My secret Yuletide source has:
+an ending that makes me sporfle out loud. (Teddy's vocation. Come now!)
+a character who turns ALL same-gender characters gay. Ze is more than a little black dress -- ze's like a little black dress with a built-in corset. (DAN. Why must you be SO boyslashy? Not that I object but seriously! Even when Demi is straight for his sister, you are cuddling with him in the willow tree!)
It also contains:
+And contains a scene that is possibly my Favorite Scene of a Particular Type in anything ever. It gives me thrilled shivers (Nat being punished by having to hit Professor Bhaer. Oh. my. goodness. SHIVERS.)
'Sall for now! More later, I'm sure.
ETA: duh. Most important thing, THANK YOU
ctorres! SQUEEEEEEEEE. <3<3<3<3

Date: 2008-01-01 11:52 pm (UTC)That's why I love them as OTP, of course. At once such a normal, sweet, old married couple, and also *siblings*.
I feel sure that the first time I read the books (many years ago) I read them as a couple too.

Date: 2008-01-02 02:29 am (UTC)I hardly know what to request. I would absolutely love some more "Live Free or Die Hard" John/Matt or "Toy Soldiers" Billy/Joey but I think I'd be satisfied with anything you wrote. If you have any more Bible fic percolating in your brain that would be awesome. Or anything Jossverse. I'm not picky. :)

Date: 2008-01-02 09:25 am (UTC)I've barely read any Yuletide (time, mental state and dial up simply haven't permitted and likely won't), but I can't say that I'm surprised that the Matthew/Marilla I heard so much about was your request.
