joy for Advent
Dec. 16th, 2005 09:03 pm[public, with poetry]
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him, nothing was made that has been made. In him is life, and that life is the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5 NIV alt.
1. We did indeed go out for dinner. I had steak and it was *yummy*. Yay.
2. I got gingerbread mocha at Borders. It was yummy.
3. I got to put away buttons.
4. I read Concerning the Book that is the Body of the Beloved by Gregory Orr at the bookstore today and really enjoyed it. Bits of it made me sort of teary.
Ohmy! It is so Daniel/Sha're!
5. I am really excited about my brain working again.
Three things I did well today:
1. Work.
2. Ate lunch.
3. Copied down the website to go to in case of possible work-closings.
Two things I am looking forward to doing (better)tomorrow this weekend.
1. Dare I say it? Grad school apps.
2. Secret santas. Also Toby-fic. *cringes and hides*

Did you think
You would see
The loved one again
In this world
Or in some other?
No, that cannot happen.
But we have been
Gathering, all of us
The scattered remnants
Of the loved one
Since the beginning.
In Egypt the loved
One is not in the pyramids
But in the poem
Carved in stone
About the lover's lips
And eyes.
Ohmy! It is so Daniel/Sha're!

We move toward each other
Like two words
That will join in a poem
A small poem, a little song,
But one in which we're not alone. -- Gregory Orr
