Oh, this week's
fannish5 is just too easy.
What fandom did you get into that you were absolivity and posiloutly sure, you were never going to get into, but you did? I'm going with the easiest answer here: Stargate SG-1 (Yes really. I'm not kidding.)
What made you think you would never get into it? What tipped you into it?. Ewww, the icky sci-fi. Eww, the icky television. Eww, the icky sla--oh, wait, it was the slash that intrigued me in the first place. That, and I went through a bad break-up and was kinda sorta going nuts. So I go, "roommate, show me something." "What do you want to watch?" "Er... Children of the Gods." "Okay, that's a good one." And so it began.
Did you start to write/vid/archive/dub/(fill in fannish creative activity) in that fandom? Do you still? Yes. I started writing my first fic in maybe April or May (meant to be a series of episode tags starting with CotG and going to the end of the show. Okay yeah obviously that didn't happen. And no, you can't see. I'm not very pleased with what I did write) and continue to write to this very day.
Have you ever pimped someone into a fandom without trying? Which fandom, and what did it? Yes. Sumita into Sherlock Holmes. I recced the fic. Okay, so maybe I was trying, but I wasn't trying very hard.
Do you have a fandom where you do not read the fic? Why not? I don't read much Farscape or Andromeda fic. 'Scape because the show is so good it doesn't need fic, Drom because I'm not a shipper and am not really as into it.
I also don't read Dark Angel fic because I'm avoiding spoilers.
