Discussion: This is me in January of 2002 (so it is ~as old as this LJ). Had brand-new webcam and had just checked campus mail for the first time since coming home from freshman winter break to discover BUNCHES OF CHRISTMAS CARDS. You can kind of see the mail over there on the left. I've got my rainbowy lanyard around my neck with my keys and the beginnings of my keychain collection, and am wearing the most awesome purple hat that seems to have disappeared from my possession in the interim. I am 16 in that picture, but still look basically the same. I use this icon, shockingly, when I am blessed by the mail gods.

Discussion: That is Sam Carter from Stargate: SG-1, from the S8 episode "Moebius" aka the dorkverse. Perhaps you can guess why. SHE IS SO HOT IN THOSE GLASSES WTF. "Shimmer" is from a song, googling gets me "Shimmer" by Fuel -- possibly I had a Sam vid to that song? Anyhow, it seemed totally fitting at the time. Sam is so awesome and sparkly; she shimmers and shines especially when she's in her dorktastic element. I use this icon mostly to talk about doing techgeeky stuff.

Discussion: Is that not the CUTEST THING EVER?eyeconic had done one of those "A is for apple, B is for Buffy, C is for cat," etc posts and I nabbed this one because CUTEST EVER. I use it for talking about BDSM or for kinkfic, sometimes, because even when I'm being at my most perverse I can't help mocking the srz bznz that is toppy Willow. Discussion: Perhaps you remember the day that Joss did a bunch of drugs and posted on Whedonesque? And said "But I will tell you that Brett and I are talking about another three part [Firefly] comic, and it's gonna be a hoot. Takes place during the show, and has some sweet character deaths -- I mean moments! ("And what brings you to our ship, FutureTara..?") Sorry. Horrible taste"? Yeah. Crossovers from the mouth of Joss himself? So that's Tara right before she dies in "Seeing Red" and in my imagination she gets beamed aboard Serenity right at that moment. And dies. Because Joss is sadistic and awful and I love him to death.
