Anyhow, I found my Mary Sue fic! Yay! Apparently, everyone has a deep dark secret collection of violet-eyed heroines who go by two names (to my credit, there's a reason all my self-insertions have two names. How else am I going to identify them as RE clones?) Still, it's deeply shaming.

you know, i think i personally skipped the Mary Sue stage in my ficcing history. i'm always intensely amused to read others - and intensely grief-filled to read other authors who actually place value on their Sues..

Mine doesn't even have the benefit of being fanfic... It's just... fic. My Mary Sue was named Lisbeth Ann and Katie Mae and Beth and ... oh, let's just say the violet-eyed one went under many alieses. Oh yes, Rosemarie. My last true Mary Sue; she actually ended up in the finished novellas. Much as I longed to write Her Own Story, some greater good stopped me.

But you honestly mean you've never written stories about yourself? I did that all the time. Not in fanfic, but I started ficcing much later.

aside from the assigned story back in elementary school when the mission was to write a story abot ourselves in an alternate universe, never. i found other people to be far more interesting subjects. & now, reading everyone else's Mary Sue's, i'm incredibly thankful that such a moment of enlightenment came blissfully early. :D
