b. I think the thing about this is that we see him when he's immature and mostly when he hasn't thought yet about what he believes (and instead acts more like a parrot). Then he gets put in a situation where saying anything else involves...well, death. I think while he has many faults (and many of them that won't change), many of the most serious ones are ones that (if JKR acknowledged that most people change and grow after age 17) he would likely grow out of.

And okay, that was long-ish. >.>

I... have this problem a lot. (Well, twice, but whatever). Draco is racist and a bully, which I hate, but mostly he thinks it's okay to treat people poorly because he's rich and can get away with it. THAT I cannot stand. To the point where it's possibly a bullet-proof squick. I'm sure he may grow out of some of that and I'm happy for him and all? But I really have no interest in reading about it. Or thinking about him having sex because that gives me shuddertwitch.

I don't think he is necessarily truly racist. He spouts it off, but I'm not convinced he truly thinks it. Was he a bully? Somewhat yes, though it seems mostly a Slytherin-Gryffindor rivalry, where he takes on the Gryffs. And while I don't think he's right to do so, Harry and co. did just as nasty stuff to him at times. Was he a bit of a nasty bugger? Yes, but again, that's some immaturity crap. I think your biggest squick you mention is more to do with "I am a Malfoy and can get away with whatever" and wealth is at best only a part of it. Not necessarily better, but post-final battle stuff can smack that out of his head very easily. And considering I don't think Lucius will politically ever get back in completely, I think he'll get that "rug" (so to speak) pulled out from under his feet.

Why he interests me is because he is a complex and flawed character. Reading "this is a good person whee" and good things happen to them, laaa doesn't excite me. I enjoy reading about flawed people dealing with those flaws and having to deal with issues, etc. And he fits that bill.

Then again, I choose many of my favorite characters (if not most) is their complexity, whether a "good" character or "bad" character. More complex characters are more human, less Mary Sue. And in fiction, that's what I like.

1. Alan Rickman's voice His intense and unwavering loyalty to and love for Lily Evans.
2. He's cruel to Neville and Hermione.
3. Lily, because canon, and Harry, because he died looking into Harry's eyes which are Lily's eyes and they are crazy otp of heart. Sigh.
4. This is a really hard question. So much of what I think about Snape in romantic pairings has to do with the complicated and epic life history stuff, and while there are a lot of characters I can see him not being interested in -- too twee or too dumb or too different from the persona he draws for himself -- I'm hard pressed for ones he would like. Maybe Cuddy from House, provided the right circumstances forced them together, would be the kind of person he needs in his life?

a. Loves his daughter more than anything else in the world.
b. I can't think of anything. I love every single thing about Keith's relationship with Veronica, even the parts that are awkward and the parts where they dance around each other and the parts where Keith is too protective and the parts where he's not protective enough because he treats his daughter like an adult long before she is one. All those things? LOVE.
c. ... Veronica.
d. Nope. Just Veronica. (Yeah, I have tried to write him in crossover pairings a couple of times, with Giles and Hermione and CJ Cregg, and it seems like a really good idea, but it's really all about Veronica.

Now see, this is interesting and not what I'd expected.

I can honestly say that I'd never thought of that pairing before, probably because parental incest squicks me in a way that sibling cest doesn't. But still, now that you've said it, it strikes me that you're not wrong about the two of them.

No, I totally get that it's squicky and all. I'm just... I'm pretty much not sane about them. It hit some deep internal kink I didn't know I had, I mean, I loved them in a gen way for all of S1, really grooving on the loyalty and care and affectionate cuteness and did I mention the unswerving loyalty?

And then there was "Leave it to Beaver" and they were on the couch and he was her biological father AND THEY WERE KISSING. And then I kind of fell over and died and realized that I really, really wasn't sane about them.

YOu know, I have only seen the first and second seaons and each episode only once. In fact, I pretty much watched the first two seasons in 48 hours of extreme VM which is not conducive to memory retention LOL and I DO NOT REMEMBER THAT AT ALL!! OMG, how could I have missed that? Were they like kissing kissing?

I have screencapped that scene FRAMEBYFRAME. So I am fully an expert on it and can tell you that it is TOTALLY that shippy. The look in her eyes, omg. They're all shiny with tears right before she *pounces* on him.
