Jan. 8th, 2008 01:05 amGive me a character from any fandom you know I am into and I will tell you:
a. My favorite thing about that character.
b. My least favorite thing about that character.
c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.
d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

Date: 2008-01-08 07:37 am (UTC)a. When he gets excited, he talks too fast and doesn't think that anyone will listen to him but needs to get all the words out.
b. ... apparently I can't think of a single thing. I'm not so good at "unfavorite".
c. Cannot choose one. Jack/Daniel and Daniel/Sam are equal otps.
d. Dumbledore. Because I think they might discover mutual intellectual interests and have similar ideas about the intensity of their relationship.

Date: 2008-01-08 03:37 pm (UTC)a. Um, he causes Harry to get all obsessed with him, which is kind of boyslashy and cute.
b. Oh, everything else? Okay, racist. And annoying. And inexplicably popular.
c. Whoever that woman is he marries. Or Pansy.
d. Logan Echolls. Spike from BtVS. Alec from Dark Angel. They are all welcome to each other. >

Date: 2008-01-08 04:01 pm (UTC)Why he interests me is because he is a complex and flawed character. Reading "this is a good person whee" and good things happen to them, laaa doesn't excite me. I enjoy reading about flawed people dealing with those flaws and having to deal with issues, etc. And he fits that bill.
Then again, I choose many of my favorite characters (if not most) is their complexity, whether a "good" character or "bad" character. More complex characters are more human, less Mary Sue. And in fiction, that's what I like.

Date: 2008-01-08 07:57 am (UTC)a. Identity crisis confusion and woe!
b. Um, pass? Slept with someone in her chain of command, maybe.
c. But then again, Chief Tyrol. OTP. Sigh.
d. Apparently I don't know. My initial answer is Mary Anne Spier. I don't know why, but I'm going with it.

c. Donna.
d. Dana from SN. (Okay, that is a trainwreck waiting to happen. But pretty!)

Date: 2008-01-08 03:26 pm (UTC)b. The way he treats Wesley in S3btvs. And, for that matter, S1AtS/S4BtVS. Or, hi, he can keep a grudge.
c. Willow! Shocking I know.
d. Nigh on everyone. Currently CJ I think -- I think "Marmalade Skies" may come out as my favorite fic of my own from 2007.
[edit because I seemed to have chosen the wrong icon. O_O]

Date: 2008-01-08 03:34 pm (UTC)b. TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS SOMETIMES. Especially when you have information that could be important for all of them to know. Or that they could help you out with.
c. Angel. Or Fred, but Angel because of that look in NFA. Sigh.
d. Sam Carter. :)

Date: 2008-01-08 09:30 pm (UTC)YES! Admittedly, would screw up a lot of Season Three if he did, but honestly!
Then again, a lot of his inability to communicate probably stems from being an abused child - anyone else want to join me in hunting down and killing Roger?
(no subject)
Date: 2008-03-06 01:35 am (UTC)Isn't it odd that Wesley and Fred's fathers have the same name?

Date: 2008-01-08 04:38 pm (UTC)a. She's shy but brave. When she's all stuttery but still manages to tell Willow how much she loves her, in early S4? YEAH THAT.
b. She drinks alcohol. Yeah, when that is the ONLY negative thing I can think of, that's pretty good. [obvs. to all reading who drink it's fine that you drink and I have no intellectual problem with that; alcohol squicks me and it's irrational and I own that.]
c. Giles! (And Willow but that's canon.)
d. CJ!
ps:

Date: 2008-01-08 04:39 pm (UTC)b. I don't really like how bossy she is in
S1PS/SS, but I can understand why she is.c. McGonagall.
d. Giles!
(ohgod Angel/Wesley. WHY SO AWESOME?)
probably obvious, but

Date: 2008-01-09 03:17 am (UTC)Alan Rickman's voiceHis intense and unwavering loyalty to and love for Lily Evans.2. He's cruel to Neville and Hermione.
3. Lily, because canon, and Harry, because he died looking into Harry's eyes which are Lily's eyes and they are crazy otp of heart. Sigh.
4. This is a really hard question. So much of what I think about Snape in romantic pairings has to do with the complicated and epic life history stuff, and while there are a lot of characters I can see him not being interested in -- too twee or too dumb or too different from the persona he draws for himself -- I'm hard pressed for ones he would like. Maybe Cuddy from House, provided the right circumstances forced them together, would be the kind of person he needs in his life?
ooooooh fun
Date: 2008-01-09 03:04 am (UTC)I have strong but pretty unidirectional thoughts about this:
Date: 2008-01-09 03:22 am (UTC)a. Loves his daughter more than anything else in the world.
b. I can't think of anything. I love every single thing about Keith's relationship with Veronica, even the parts that are awkward and the parts where they dance around each other and the parts where Keith is too protective and the parts where he's not protective enough because he treats his daughter like an adult long before she is one. All those things? LOVE.
c. ... Veronica.
d. Nope. Just Veronica. (Yeah, I have tried to write him in crossover pairings a couple of times, with Giles and Hermione and CJ Cregg, and it seems like a really good idea, but it's really all about Veronica.
Re: I have strong but pretty unidirectional thoughts about this:
Date: 2008-01-10 02:31 am (UTC)I can honestly say that I'd never thought of that pairing before, probably because parental incest squicks me in a way that sibling cest doesn't. But still, now that you've said it, it strikes me that you're not wrong about the two of them.
Re: I have strong but pretty unidirectional thoughts about this:
Date: 2008-01-10 03:18 am (UTC)And then there was "Leave it to Beaver" and they were on the couch and he was her biological father AND THEY WERE KISSING. And then I kind of fell over and died and realized that I really, really wasn't sane about them.

Re: I have strong but pretty unidirectional thoughts about this:

You should totally do that. And then continue to tell me how I'm not insane for shipping Keith/Veronica. (My girlfriend has my VMars DVDs so until I see her [NEXT MONDAY!!] I have to make due with frame-by-frame screencaps.)

I'm beginning to realize Ari's special gifts. :)
I'm going to have to rewatch again.
