tww - "Jefferson Lives"
Apr. 25th, 2006 02:29 am[incoherent spoilers]
1. Amusingly, must note that this and "Mandatory Minimums" were the first two West Wing episodes I saw, last spring. My verdict was "CJ pretty, but I am so lost." Much, much better with context!
Things that haven't changed? CJ still pretty!
2. Jed and his girls just kill me dead, oh sigh. (I love that Ellie and Zoey have the same issues with their dad, but neither one realizes it. I love that Jed manages to alienate his girls even though he loves them so terribly, fiercely much. *Oh* the goodness.)
3. Charlie/Zoey is amazing. It's always been cute? But now it's amazing. Charlie's grown up so much and he's just an incredible person. And I don't think he'll ever be the same after these past few days. Abbey neither.
4. I'm not a Josh/Amy person, really I'm not, but that kiss in Josh's office was incredibly hot. Josh looked all boyish and darling, and Amy just wow, and Amy's really grown on me this rewatch, and hot damn. The sex.
5. VP candidates! Toby! "I would marry her if I, you know, fell into her stated sexual preference." *grin*
6. More on the pairings I didn't see the first time but can now really get behind: CJ/Toby is a subtle kind of subtext that's really not my drink of choice, but I think they're like a Magic Eye puzzle -- if you look at them long enough, the picture resolves into something different...
That said, I think they're even more amazing if they were lovers and aren't now. It makes everything just a touch more poignant.
7. CJ. That's my girl. I mean... I don't know how she manages to be so amazing, but she really, really is.
8. That said, while I understand what's happened to Abbey, I feel like Amy here. I miss the boss-lady.
9. I guess this was actually in the previous episode, but when Jed asked Toby for the second speech, I thought of you, Em. And I was dead of guh.
All right then. I should really go to bed.
In conclusion, everyone/everyone otp!

Date: 2006-04-25 12:11 pm (UTC)That's a very good summation of them, actually. I've been feeling the CJ/T love more, and even though I still don't buy them as a romantic pairing there's *something* about them. And Allison and Richard are just *love*. (And he's said that Allison's his soulmate on the cast, so ... *g*) I think a bunch of CJ/T is due to the dynamic between the actors ... which is, you know, cool. :)
Your thoughts have given me thoughts though. And now I'm all 'must try out CJ/T again'. *sigh* (This show will be the death of my brain.)

*grin* That scene ... oh, man. (Why does no one else write Toby/Jed??) He's so twitchy and upset and Jed's being brave and manly ... oh, my boys, my boys.
I'm glad you're mainlining again, dude. I love these posts. :)

Date: 2006-04-25 11:51 pm (UTC)I probably wouldn't have seen the Toby/Jed (
at least not right away) if it weren't for you but... you're so right about them. *sigh*I'm glad I'm mainlining, too. West Wing. It's crack, man. PURE CRACK COCAINE.
