So, I have gotten more recent feedback on the fic of mine that was remixed (Amominable) than on the remix I wrote.

RECS!

+Abominable (The Extended [Baby-Sitters Club] Remix) by [livejournal.com profile] fox1013, remix of Abominable, by me. I know I've recced it already, okay? It is still awesome. AtSxBSC, Fred/Janine. In which Janine is a genius and keeps a journal, and science isn't the only answer.

+All the Answers (Call and Response Remix) by [livejournal.com profile] musesfool, remix of Call and Response, by imogenedisease. Harry Potter, Sirius/Remus, Remus/Tonks. In which Harry asks some questions and Remus gives answers that feel bitter and real.

<+A Night At The Opera (or, convincing a hippopotamus to hula dance)" by , remix of A Night At The Opera by Beatrice Acrobat. House MD, House/Wilson. In which Julie asks Wilson to ask House to the opera, with predictable results.>

+Apparation Number 12 (The Scientific Method Remix) by LacyLu42, remix of Apparation Number 12 by krabapple. Harry Potter, Sirius Remus. The remix also has subtextual Hermione/Ron, and is mostly a fic about Hermione, who connects the dots, comes to a realization, and makes a decision. This fic seems to be winning at Remix this year, and with good reason.

+Different Kinds of Magic (alla Clarke's Third), by zvi, remix of Different Kinds of Magic by Rokeon. SGAxHP, Sheppard gen. The premise of this is so brilliantly right that it blew me away. I want more in this universe. Sheppard's experience of the Wizarding World rings true to me, but it's the suggestion in the remix that a community of witches and wizards is living together on Atlantis, that Atlantis is a wand, that they've all been living Muggle lives and then discover that they're all magic... this is the Atlantis of my dreams, okay! This universe just won't leave me alone.

+Divination in Pumpkin Juice (The Momentarily There Remix) by alianora, remix of Momentarily by Giselda. HP, Hermione/m. I think both versions of the fic are Hermione/Draco in their authors' minds, but that's not made explicit, and this is a sparse and elegant set of stories about one morning in Hermione's life.

+Ksanti by Sophia Jirafe is AtS, Wes/Faith, NC-17, and is in an AU where Wes got away with the baby. It's wonderfully bitter and hard, and all three characters are wonderfully drawn, as is the AU itself. The remix, Petitio Principii (The Wannabe Bodhisattva Remix), by Dana Woods, is Angel's point of view on the same events, and is also worth reading.

Um, hi. I wrote neither Different Kinds of Magic, nor its remix, but I did write the SGA/HP xover Clarke's Law (http://isis.arithmancy.net/clarkeslaw.htm) which [livejournal.com profile] rokeon nodded to with the original story, and which I suspect the remixer has also read. Yes, I suppose it's certainly possible that someone came up with the same idea independently.

Thanks. I loved what my remixer did with it, too.

i sort of feel like people aren't feedbacking remixes much as long as they are anonymous. just a guess, or else this is depressing --. and obviously i already squeed on yours.

Also *cough* there may be some Joss-POV RPF up for you v. v. soon. So far it's very PG (well, maybe R for language because Marti Noxon keeps saying 'fuck'). It actually ended up being kind of a remix of "Fix it in Post" if I may nod to that --

I've been feedbacking, but very haphazardly. Plus I feel this obligation to read both stories (I'm a whore for context), so it's taking me longer than it would otherwise to get through the fandoms I'd usually consider reading.

To be clear, I'm not complaining, just observing. (I've only read a few stories myself, so haven't given much feedback; for some reason I'm in more of a writing than reading mood today but I definitely want to get to some of these links.)

Nah, I totally get the distinction, didn't mean to imply you were complaining. But you could be right. I keep looking for names I know, thinking I'll feedback my friends, but then I realize that I'm looking at the author of the original rather than the remix. [livejournal.com profile] thelastgoodname has an interesting post right now on how anonymity is reflected in feedback patterns, pretty thinky stuff.

that makes a lot of sense, and i'm not stressed about it, b/c I figure the people I know will go find it when my name's on it. i have other theories but can't say more w/o hinting at what my story is.

The problem (for me) is a) that my "I will read (almost) anything Ari writes" policy can't take effect while I don't know what you've written, and b) *looks at Remix archive* **flails** Too many stories! And as [livejournal.com profile] queenzulu says, it's too many stories times two.
