Female ministerperson wrote me this morning to ask about last Saturday and make sure I wasn't permanently scarred from almost getting drowned. I told her I was fine and that I needed rides on Thursday and Friday and Sunday. She said she'd get back to me. So all is well.

I'm still finished with exams.

What kind of church are you attending?

The church I attend and will join next Sunday is a small, rural UCC church that was originally Reformed and became UCC during the huge merger back in the middle part of the last century that formed the UCC.

Theologically it seems to be somewhere between Lutheran and Presbyterian...from your assessment would that be correct?

Would you consider it to be a liberal denomination?

Hmm... I don't know enough about Lutherans or Presbyterians to know... The UCC is definately a very liberal denomination. We also don't have any creeds, so it's hard to assess where we fall theologically on any one issue... but there's definately a very broad ecumenical streak through the denomination.
