[spoilers through tonight's episode. Light on the 'cest, heavy on the Duncan-love. ]
Logan had me at "I've had a really bad year." I love it when my woobies get tortured, as you know (John Crichton, I am looking at you and I like what you see), but despite the fact that Logan's life does suck (girlfriend sleeps with father, girlfriend murdered, mother kills self, on-again-off-again fuckup with V, father murderer, self on trial for murder, yeah, we know this story), I don't really get the wooooobie vibe, possibly because he doesn't have that whole fall from innocence thing that John has going on. I do so love me an innocent boy who's ravaged by forces beyond his control. Whereas Logan is more like a not-at-all innocent boy really angry at the shitty, decadent society that has made his life suck but of which he is so totally a part, really. I just... grr. I really liked "I've had a really bad year" and I admit that J.Dohring does tortured well, but the anger makes me less sympathetic.
All right.
DUNCAN. OMG Duncan. I just watched "Meet John Smith," as I mentioned, with the Lilly dreams? And the come on, big brother. Fess up. You know it doesn't add up.
And now he's having the crazy Meg dreams! And they're so awesome! I love Duncan's brain! It's so full of crack and guilt. It's all his fault Meg is still in a coma! ALL YOUR FAULT, DUNCAN! And you're sleeping with your sister.
No, seriously, I love that boy's brain so much. Mwaaaaaaahahahah!
Keith sent Veronica an email reminding her to feed Backup and asking her to let him know if she'd be home for dinner and that he was making his famous Mars Mystery Meatloaf, no onions this time, he promises, and it won't be well-done unless she asks.
He began it "Sweetheart," signed it, "Love, Dad," and used correctish grammer and capitals and periods throughout.
(I tell you this because I'm reasonably sure no one else rewound after the ep was over to see that scene again. :p )

MAC! Mac is so awesome! I was very happy she was there, and she and Veronica are so gay together. Q+Bond, indeed. Fancy. "I was just seeing how long we could have a conversation where your side consisted entirely of questions."
Mac is weird. I love her, but she grew on me really slowly, I think because she didn't have the adorable girl geek vibe that Willow and Fred have. Hers is a more subtle geekery, and she's not all that shy but she's very much not girly and I love her. I love her. Yay!
"And then we had hot cocoa and talked about our feelings."
"Oh. Like girls do." :) Love Mac's deadpan humor. Seriously, if this show were more about Mac+Veronica -- together, they fight crime, I'd be happy.Especially if they had threesomes with Keith and oh God, I should admit at this point that after Mac and Keith met for the first time? I totally started plotting fic where they had sex. And this was prior to my descent into Marscest.
Let's see. I'm kind of fascinated by Weevil's control over his gang. It seems such a weird thing, to be in charge of a group like that, so precarious. I love the way he's got to keep them in line with his charisma; it's something I never got from either Buffy or Angel because of COURSE they were in charge of their gangs; they just had the physical strength that meant they were at the center. With VMars, even Veronica has to fight to keep her minions in line; see also Wallace. I like that Mac is pretty much financing her entire random corporate espionage or whatever she does in her spare time by doing favors for V. Funny.
Ah, the MOTW! I thought it was kind of awesome, mostly because GAYNESS! I actually really liked the portrayal? The cute little fag-in-love and he was all adorable! And how he tried in subtle ways to make Marcos gay too. Awwwww. *wants to hug him* I also felt like the questioningness and the naked backrubs and... okay, that whole scene felt really true-to-life for me. Not so much like my own life in any obvious way as just... real.
Veronica totally still loves Logan. I'm not a shipper and I can see that. Plus, she got tortured? And then got up and went home and helped Daddy with his case. Sweet. That's so my girl. *loves her to little bits of brittle emotional repression*. Kinda reminds me of in the pilot, when she gets raped and starts sobbing and then goes to see Lamb about it? And now she's like... she cries. Then she gets over it. She moves on.
Loved Keith's concerned, "Are you okay?" though. Cos, clearly, no. But then he doesn't push. I love that, too.
And the way he is once again asking her to ask some questions at school, get the low-down. And he trusts her. I just love them.
YAY! This wiped the bad taste that last night's House gave me right out of my head.
Oh, yes, and once again, the ending was frelling fantabulous. Sure, it felt a bit cheap and obvious, but I thought T.Dunn really nailed it. I wibbled and giggled and gasped and said, "Oh frell," a lot.
I love this show so much!
