Three years ago: I posted one of several thousand regular school!angst posts.

Two years ago: I gazed into my crystal ball and predicted what I would, wouldn't, and wouldn't want to post in my journal. Things what have come true include "I have a girlfriend!" and "Stargate is getting a S9!" Also posted on the same day: English teacher adoration and I lose a competition to get less sleep than Sumita.

One year ago: I declared Joss/Alexis my OTP + drive-by blogging.

Nine months ago: was Boxing Day, 2004, and I didn't post. I was in Kansas with my darling. The following day, I posted my initial thoughts on Firefly.

Six months ago: joy for Lent, day forty. My girlfriend was with me, and we had wonderful DVDs to watch. Also, it was the last day of Lent, and thusly my last regular gleee!post until I started up again a few days ago.

Three months ago: I decided to do NaNoWriSu, not yet knowing that my summer was going to suck, and I read the novelization of the first Star Trek movie.

Ah, good. I keep having arguments with people who don't have a Caleb problem about how it's really, really, really difficult to accept Mal... thankfully, Avril has the same problem as me, so we won't be arguing over that one...

Yes, very much so -- I am a firm believer in separating the actor from the character, but am very bad at doing it in practice.

The fact that people who came to Firefly late had to get over the Caleb issue cured me of any envy I had of them getting to watch the episodes in the "correct" order first time through. (Plus, I remain so glad that "The Train Job" opener was my introduction to Serenity-the-ship.)

And clicking on said Firefly link . . . look at us having that Mal/Inara conversation :)

In terms of Australian viewership, I didn't come to them that late at all: it only showed out here last year, although at 5am. That said, of people who saw it post-Caleb, some of them didn't recognise him (which I find hard to believe, but nevertheless, apparently, it has happened.)

I was thinking in terms of American viewers like Ari. And wow, I am impressed by the ability to not recognize Mal as being played by the same person who played Caleb.
