CJ/Josh and other OTPs I don't understand

Errr, so in "100,000 Airplanes," what is the S3 State of the Union episode (for my own reminder, because there is too much new canon; I cannot remember it all!) Anyhow, there was major hugging in the form of Josh lifting CJ off her feet omg and I squeed irrationally much. I can't figure out why I love them so much. There's clearly almost no canonical subtext or fannish support; I don't even really like Josh all that much. (Correction -- adore Josh as a character, but think he'd be mostly shite as a relationship partner for anyone.) The Josh/Donna banter is more fun. The Josh/Sam is more slashy. But somehow around the first or second episode of S1 I decided that Josh/CJ was my OTP. There was, at that point, major eyefuckage in the form of Meaningful Glances, but this has since gone away somewhat. I can't even figure out what the parameters and issues of their relationship even are, since mostly when they're in the same scene together I'm too busy doing out of context capping.
But I love their Hugs of Victory. (See icon, for instance.) When they have a victory, and everyone goes around hugging like whoa? Josh and CJ always do the best hugs. Crazy glompage, crazy. He lifted her off her feet! Unrelated...
CJ: Get on the couch, I could do you right now.
Sam: Okay.
CJ: Actually, I was still talking to Carol.
Sam: What's wrong with you?
CJ: I really don't know.
[snip deep, important character moments]
Sam: If you were serious about that thing with Carol, I could just stay here...
*dies and goes to happy place, then rewinds to watch the Victory Hugs again*
Em, will you write Toby/Sam/CJ for me? They're so pretty!
I forgot to make coffee so far today. I should remedy that. And I am sad what there isn't new VMars yet. *waits impatiently*

I had instant Josh-love, because I had instant love for ALL of them because they're so damn smart and articulate, but the Josh-love has faded somewhat. I might join you in the "love Josh more" resolution.
We all need more pretty in our lives. :)

It could be my inherent contrary reaction kicking in: coz Josh has so much 'net love (Brad Whitford being all yummy and all) I'm maybe inclined to be more 'hmmmm' about him. But then again, I cried like a big sap all the way through 'Noel', so...
