This post is in no way about Bones or House.... no, yeah, it is.
I. Bones -- umm... had difficulty figuring out what the characters were named, hence imdb'ing. I was mostly pretty bored by the whole thing... David Boreanaz doesn't have an awful lot of range, does he? Was amused in the Scene of Sexual Tension when he went to the scary Angelus place and I thought he'd be slitting her throat.
Ah! Names! Brennan and Booth. I liked Brennan sort of. She was, erm, vaguely a character type I like, the sort of Blinded By Science type, with the total lack of cultural context ("I don't know what that means"), but she was, um not all that interesting to watch. And felt very much... obvious. But still, ("I hate psychology") she has potential. If they can dig under the Totally Obvious Orphan Angst. Which I think they're aiming to do, since they pretty much mocked the ex Phil's interpretation of her personality.
I assume from the lack of other girls in the credits that the hot, funny, interesting one is Angela? I liked her a lot. She was hot, and funny, and interesting. I was going to mention sexy, then realized that was pretty much the same as "hot." Anyhow, she's clearly Brennan's girlfriend. Though I honestly can't imagine them doing anything together, she clearly loves Brennan, and she's Hot! Funny! and Interesting! Which means that clearly Brennan should be interested in her.
On the other hand, Brennan and Booth have Really Obvious Sexual Tension that could get annoying quickly.
This is going to be the show I watch whilst waiting for House to come on.
II. House!!!! Ahh, my beloved snarky doctor yay! *hearts* There was crazy snarky smartness, and Wilson was all pretty -- though their Obligatory Scene was less cute than usual. Wilson and Cameron, on the other hand, had adorableness. They should never, ever, ever sleep together (see, I don't ship everything that moves!) but could be kind of cute friends. Especially since they are both all pretty.
Actually, thinking that Cameron is remarkably easy to ship because Cameron Loves Everyone. So cute when she was trying to convince House she hated him. Seems they are paste-ing off that 'ship? I think that is a wise move.
Still not totally nuts about Stacey, but she's tolerable. I could always pretend she's Stacey McGill all grown up, and how frelling amusing would that be?
Cuddddddy! *swoon* She's all hot and snarky and pretty as usual.
I liked Foreman. 'Sweird, I think his identity is more tied up in his being black than, say, Gunn's is -- Gunn's identity is in part all about being poor, but not black per se, but, as House so astutely points out, Foreman has overcome the poverty of his youth but not his biology. It's interesting, and probably one of the deeper characterizations on the show. <3!
House really does hit on Chase all the time ("his mouth is prettier.") This is:
a) because he wantssss him!
b) because Chase wants House and House finds it amusing to torment him with sexual harassment
c) for no damned reason at all.
I? Am voting b.
Err -- except that I don't really have a read on Stacey's personality, I'd be voting Stacey/House. As it is, I'm writing Cameron/Cameron in my head -- theirloveissonaive! Also, they have the same name! I'm not sure which of these is a stronger motivation for writing.
Speaking of crossovers that occurred to me -- Cameron/McKay would be really adorable. Because Cameron loves the Broken Ones. And then I realized the difference between McKay's snark and House's snark is that House's is very calculated. Everything he does is calculated. It's so pretty! Ultimate control!kink.
Err! The ending, with the liquor in the coffee mug and then the erasing the stages of grief -- interpretation? Re: Cameron's arc, I think... it kind of played out by the book, which in no way interests House, but Cam's all, "Okay, yes, you're dying, let us have girly sex before you die." Err. Minus that that would be unethical. Anyhow, essentially that arc played out, but I don't think you need End of Episode Symbolism to tell you that -- hence probably relating to House's episodic arc, which was about the thing with Stacey... so the grief in question is over dissolved relationship with Stacey, one assumes? And then by erasing the final two stages, is House being all, "I HAVE NO FEELINGS," which is very much what he reverts to when threatened? 'Cos I kind of felt like that was where it was at. Or possibly this was really obvious to everyone else and I am just dense for needing 45 minutes to figure it out.
Yay! House! *squee*
Also squee for the Serenity trailer, which caused me to simultaneously squee and do a duck-and-cover. You guys never want to watch TV with me. It's totally ridiculous. When an ad comes on for a show I like, I put my hands over my ears, close my eyes, and hum the Stargate theme. Then I squint over the top of my glasses to see if it's over yet.
Yes, I am a TOTAL SPAZ.

Date: 2005-09-14 01:34 pm (UTC)And apparently I am the target market for that stuff these days, because it made me happy. I liked the show in general, too bad it'll be on opposite American Idol.

Date: 2005-09-16 10:39 pm (UTC)For the record, though, I personally am open to f/f stuff -- it's been a long time since I've seen ITLD, but I assume from context/your icon, that Henta is Aeryn's friend from PK days? In which case -- omg they were so doing it!
*waves* Any friend of Sarah and Lindsey's is a friend of mine.
