Worked on resume a tiny bit, tried to formulate a plan, failed at formulating a plan, despaired at ever, ever, ever getting anything done, talked on the phone to [livejournal.com profile] venusinrapture, did not work at all on any of the ficathon things have due, or the things I have outstanding beta's for, considered dropping out of everything fannish and giving up forEVER on everything.

Wisely decided against that. For now. I guess.

Googled "CJ/Weir" without results. *fuck*. The whole fandom is Josh/Sam and CJ/Toby, which is great; I love the ho!yay of Josh/Sam as much as anyone, but there should really be more CJ fic. CJ/anyone. Really. [livejournal.com profile] raedbard, I'm like, having the flip side of your problem. All the Toby fic may be CJ/Toby, but all the CJ fic is ALSO CJ/Toby. *commiserates*

Eh. I don't know if I'm feeling all wacky because I'm out of a job, or because of the family sitch, or just because my hormones are out of whack, but dude. There's the family Talk tomorrow night that I'm looking forward to like a root canal, there's the actual root canal (okay, wisdom teeth extraction) that I'm looking forward to like a family dinner about my parents' impending divorce, and just *fuck*. Primal SCREAM.

if you really loved me, you'd write me CJ/Weir fic

Teh_gf and I spent a good ten minutes figuring out what I wanted out of a WW/SG x-over. Finally decided that it's vaguely dorkverse!AUy, only not really. (I just want dorkverse!Sam, actually. We've got Sam at the Pentagon; we've got McKay involved with the Stargate project. The 'Gate goes public. Sam and McKay are the country's experts on the 'Gate, which clearly gets them into the White House and they have the job of briefing the President and his communications team. They vie with each other for CJ's affections. They all have sex with each other omfg teh_end. Plot ensues in the form of UST and *sex*. I'm not sure how Weir gets involved, but I'm sure it's possible.

Now, those of you who are wiser and have been in West Wing fandom for longer than two days -- where do I find this fic? Don't you dare tell me if I want self-indulgent!crack, I have to write it myself!

I need to write an essay about why I love John Crichton more than is humanly possible by tomorrow.

FSCK.

~huggles you~

You know, I have an odd feeling there may be CJ/Sam out there... Check [livejournal.com profile] wingswing (go from the LJ to the website), and [livejournal.com profile] mandysbitch's website.

Oh, and honey - the tooth extraction and the Talk? Just keep thinking about CJ saying Woot Canaw in "Celestial Navigation". If you're *anything* like me, it will make you feel better.

Love you and am thinking about you and praying for you and your family.

(Oh, yes, and when I said "CJ/Sam", I meant Sam Carter. Although there is also CJ/Sam Seaborn... ) CJ goes with *everyone*... although always angstily. At least, I've never been able to write non-angsty CJ.

Okay, really going to work now.

If I knew who CJ was, I would write you CJ/Weir! Okay, maybe I would, but I'd give it a good shot and cuddle you lots and stuff.

You're not the first person to jones for a WW/SG crossover. [livejournal.com profile] melyanna wrote one that had Weir's ex-boyfriend be some sketchy reporter-guy from WW. *shrugs* However, that one is Sheppard/Weir And How, so I suggest you avoid it. But it does seem to be a popular idea, so perhaps there is HOPE.

Can it be a pictorial essay? "LOOK AT THIS MAN. The end."

Ack! That was a mistake. *puts non-Sheppard/Weir icon on your journal instead and feels irrationally guilty*

Okay, I was actually going to write a whole post about this, and I still might. You totally wow me. Um. First of all, you've got a bizillion fandoms that you not only know forwards, backwards and sideways, but also write amazing fic for. I read the crack!fic you wrote for [livejournal.com profile] hermionesviolin and thought it was incredible, but didn't know how to respond considering I don't know anything at all about Firefly. And now you're getting into West Wing...!!! And I'm going crazy because I didn't bring my West Wing DVDs to Connecticut with me because I thought my Dad would need them at home and I didn't want such a delicious distraction tempting me when I need to be studying. But... now the jealous narcissist in me says... "But, but, I don't want Ari to surpass me in West Wing fandom when I still have to catch up with her on everything else!" And the opportunist in me says, "Yummy CJ smut on the way!" And stuff. So.

Now, I would write you CJ/Weir fic if I had any idea who Weir is, but I don't, so... and I can't think of a way to slash her with anyone in the Buffyverse either, yet, but I'm still thinking. But now I want to write you CJ/someone... but honestly, I don't know if I have the patience to write fanfic. Anyway...

I can look up some good West Wing fic and get back to you. I read some good Leo/Jed Bartlett stuff last year.

You must watch Firefly. (And dude, saying "That was awesome even though I know nothing about one of the fandoms involved" is always righteous feedback.) My parents have watched 2 out of the 4 discs and I will gladly ship them all to you when they have finished the series. (Only because it is cruel to be forced to stop midway through.) What's the public library system like where you are? I got spoiled growing up outside Boston, but one of the first things I did when I got to Smith was to get a public library card, and the Central/Western Mass. system was pretty durn good, though I never bothered searching it for audio-visual materials.

Am glad you decided against dropping out of everything fannish. The obligations can be dreadful-feeling, but dude, I was feeling and then had that massive discussion re: assorted texts with Scroll last Friday night and felt so invigorated. The things you love will buoy you through difficult times.

And um, I feel safe in saying that a combo of all those factors you listed pretty solidly conspire towards yechy feeling.

Will call you tonight after 9 when my cell phone calls are free?

I keep telling myself that throwing out the things that make it worthwhile is not a good idea.

SO TRUE.

And you know we'll always be around to remind you of that :)

The only CJ/Sam that I know of is A Sloe Comfortable Screw and it's pretty good. Anonymous sex between hot women is never a bad thing.

As for the CJ/Weir, that makes total sense (and somehow seems much more in keeping with the characters than CJ/any canon female or Carter/Weir). In fact, given that Weir used to work in Washington, it seems downright obvious.

Unfortunately, my canon knowledge of both West Wing and Atlantis is slightly too shoddy for me to feel comfortable writing either character. Gee, maybe I'll just have to get a couple of seasons worth of episodes and camp out for a week with a tv and a pencil.

*commiserates back - waah*
And y'know, even when you do eventually find WW fic that *isn't* one of those pairings, turns out? Isn't all that good. So we must conquer the fandom and fill it full of crack!fic. ;)
I mean, I love CJ and Toby, they're just not *angsty* enough...

re. 'Gateverse/WW crossover: the National Library (sort of Heliopolis and Area 52 combined) has a crossover category but it is probably filled with things that'll make you want to claw your eyes out in horror. But y'know - last resort?

Is it time to have a wacky crossover ficathon do ya think?
