My sister's indoctrination into BtVS continues. She's read some novels (including The Lost Slayer), seen all my Willow/Tara clips, a bunch of vids, read character stuff online (her favorite character is Dawn, which I think is just proving my point about younger sisters), and seen "The Freshman" and the bits of "Living Conditions" and "Harsh Light of Day" that I managed to record. (Stupid TV.)
And then tonight we saw "The Gift." My sister was fully spoiled for the ending. Fully. And she knew Buffy comes back in S6. And? Tears, baby. Joss Whedon made my little sister cry. *loves on Joss liek whoa, and is also tempted to be mad at him, for NO ONE makes kidsis cry and gets away with it*
I was near tears myself, I admit. I heartthemallsomuch. Buffy who's just a girl. She's just a girl and she's a hero and she's lost and she loves and my God, fandom made me love Buffy. And Giles. Giles is not a hero. And Willow. Willow found Tara, will always find her. Willow loves Tara so much, and Buffy, and Xander, and Giles and Dawn. Willow is LOVE. And Xander. Xander proposed to Anya, and Xander is... Xander is love. With his carpentry and his bowling shoes and God. Xander.
And Anya. I love Anya, chipper scared honest real. Who feels so much, doesn't have enough worry in her heart for all of them. And Tara. I love Tara, who got so lost, and is lost, lost, lost inside her own mind. Crazygirlsarelove. I love Spike, with his Dutch Courage, Spike, who made a promise to a lady, Spike, who doesn't have a soul and shouldn't be able to love but DOES. And Dawn. I love Dawn who loves Buffy, who is just this kid, just 14 years old and ready to jump off the tower herself, ready to die because that's what heroes do.

Buffy Summers -- Beloved Sister. Devoted Friend.
She saved the world a lot.

Date: 2005-08-18 03:04 am (UTC)I'll admit I'm not completely over my Buffy issues, but for about 95% of this I have much, much love. Even though I'm the older sister, Dawn is one of my favourites too. Actually, by the end of S7 I think she is my favourite of the regular cast, with Buffy following close behind. (But Faith before Buffy, because I'm never rational when it comes to Faith.)
I miss Anya. If there's one thing I could change about S7 is that Anya survives. She deserved to live a full human life.
(Btw, I haven't had a chance to write anything more on my Multiverse fic, but if you wanna take a look at it, I'll send it over. It's like, not even half done. *weeps*)

Date: 2005-08-18 01:03 pm (UTC)Even with that and my hatred of the Gaping PlotHole of Doom that was "The Gift" finale resolution, i sobbed at the end of that episode. Crying in my mother's arms, i said, "I know she's coming back, so why am I crying?" ('Cause i had totally already heard about how Joss was given a 2-season deal on another network and said he was bringing Buffy/SMG back.)
And i'm not sure i can ever forgive Willow for S6 (for Tara far more than for Darth!Willow) but look at me stopping this train of thoughts before i hash your mellow. And you know i have so much love for that 'verse and so many of the characters.
