So there's this thing, where since one month is entirely too short to write a novel especially when said month is November and everyone knows the only words you're writing that month are term paper words, where instead you write a novel during the summer (June 21 - September 21.) It's called, appropriately enough, NaNoWriSu. [livejournal.com profile] sage_theory is doing it which is how I know. And now, I'm doing it too.

Cross your toes.

Who wants in the filter? It won't probably be actually posting of words so much as posting about the writing process and wordcounts and whatnot. If anyone's interested, just ask.

I want in on the filter!

(although I feel impelled to point out that it's not summer everywhere... *turns on heater and huddles under quilt*)

Where are you? Your user info says UK, where it would be summer now. Well, the UK version of summer, anyway... :-P

Haha, yes, the UK version of summer CAN be pretty chilly. I'm based there but I'm in NZ at the moment. It's COLD! (But I'll get over it, eventually.)

i want in, of course.

have you ever tried nanowrimo? i tried once, managed it, and didn't do a single other paper. my priorities have always been what other people call "skewed."

toes & fingers & eyes crossed for you. :)

I've done NaNoWriMo for the last two years. I don't think it particularly works for me--they say that crappy writing is just as productive as good writing, and it's all about word count and buttinchair, whereas I'm far more mercurial and demanding, even in my first drafts--but it's a challenge, so I enjoy it on that level. I'd enjoy being in the filter, to hear what you have to say.

My NaNoWriWhatever isn't actually starting until midsummer, so I'm on a bit of a different schedule, but I'd love on the filter for inspiration. :)

The process of writing is almost as interesting--or possibly more so--than the results. Of course, I'm still not sure what a filter is...
