random. evening.
Apr. 7th, 2005 10:22 pmGot absurdly large amount of sleep last night. I'm talking like, twenty hours. This is lucky, as tonight I have to write an 8-10 page paper which I have not, technically, researched yet. So of course I talked to
cheese_munkey for like, three hours.
Last night of tutoring ever! Eeeee! My supervisor gave me a pen and pencil set and it was really sweet. And we got pizza. And then tutoring itself, where I mostly talked to
cheese_munkey, and then it was over.
I need to write my paper now so um, yay. Have a nice evening, all.
PS to Alixtii: replied to your comment on fave characters here.
PS to all: might post later on the question of whether or not Tara is canonically gay. Or might actually, yanno, write term paper. Also, some characters still haven't been guessed! Also, favorite het and femslash in Drom still haven't been guessed either. For goodness' sakes.

Date: 2005-04-08 06:00 am (UTC)....also, re: greater flexibility of icons then drabbles... huuuuge possibilites in *animating* icons. So strictly speaking, you can have as many 100x100 pixel frames in an icon as file size allows. & my brain is still dead, so I might try to elaborate on that
tomorrowthis morning at breakfast instead.<3333333333333333 you. 'night!

Date: 2005-04-08 06:09 am (UTC)Yeah, I didn't mention animation tonight because brain was dead, but is total point. :p But yeah... yay breakfast! (*random*). I still hold that the finitude of icons is comparable to that of drabbles, and that drabbles are a severely under-utilized form because of lack of realization of the sheer number of things that can be done w/ a hundred words... but yeah. You're definitely right that there are strictly speaking a greater number of possible icons than number of possible drabbles (at least drabbles in English...)
Would you argue that graphic art (even just limited to computer art) has greater potential/flexibility than written art/writing in general? B/c part of me wants to say it does, but then again, so *committed* to writing as a valuable and dynamic means of expression.
<3 you!
(omg, so not anthro paper! *dies*)

Date: 2005-04-09 03:51 am (UTC)...If we're still considering sheer observation of 'net, then yes. Especially with regards to the enhanced ability/temptation to incorporate text into graphic art on the 'net.
So want to think about anthro & borders...Otherwise, no! XD Personally, I think words are far more dynamic/expressive/flexible/communicative than other visual art. Partly because I see written art as less subjective; words are concrete units with specific/generally agreed upon connotations. & this makes them so much more powerful to me.
......yeah, no mental stamina to finish this thought tonight. XD sorry...
Hope you're getting good sleep! <3
