"In conclusion, this paper is a terrible waste of paper. I have never been so ashamed of anything I have handed in. This paper was supposed to outline the issue of global warming using the rubric developed in class, moving from a scientific analysis of the problem, through risk assessment, through steps to solve the problem: public education, political action, and follow-through. It would have seamlessly shown how despite the vocal forces in the scientific community denying that global warming was a problem, most policy-makers and scientists believe the potential threat is great enough that legislative action should be taken. Emphasis would have been placed on the importance of individuals participating in the fight against global warming, on the difficulties inherent in legislating industry in a political climate devoted to free trade and unlegislated industry, and on the global nature of the problem. This would have flowed elegantly into a discussion of emissions trading, the lack of cooperation from major organizations, and the United States' failure to participate when it is one of the greatest sources of greenhouse emissions. It would have ended, however, with a note of hope, a call to action, and a reiteration of the importance of individuals in emission reduction.
So when you grade this paper, imagine that it did all that, with Pulitzer Prize-worthy writing, careful citations, and impeccable grammar. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain."
So, should I hand it in like that? Or should I BS a conclusion? I rather like that one, actually.
