Quick Editorial Comment: Is you answer in the affirmative for either #1 or #2, answer 4A. If you answer negative for the first two questions, answer 4B. That is, unless you want to answer every question...
1)Do you have a fandom that is a sitcom or a soap opera? What is it? Eh, not really. I tried to be fannish about "As Times Goes By" and "Keeping Up Appearances," but the fandoms are so
2)Do you have a book or movie fandom? What is it? Um... LotR/HP? Those are not unusual fanda. They are the two most popular fanda frelling ever. Then I've got fannish relationships to the Anne octology and to the Greeleyverse... do those count?
3)Do you read or write fic for this kind of fandom? Do you search for fic for this kind of fandom> I've written one third of a trio of slashy vignettes for the Greeleyverse. The rest of my fanfic is all for sci-fi shows. I actively search out rareslash for just about any source material I've seen, which generally means large quantites of book fandom.
4A)How do you pimp people into your genre fandom? With great difficulty.
4B)Are you open to being pimped into a genre fandom? I'm open to being pimped into just about anything. And side-note: I thought "genre" was short-hand for "sci-fi/fantasy"? Like HP, Stargate, Farscape, LotR, Buffy, and just about every other popular fandom out there?
5)Is one of these genres "better" fannish fodder than the other? Why? I think that: episodic television or book series with some semblence of an arc are the best fannish fodder. I think that the more characters there are--fully-developed or not--the better fannish fodder it is.
I should go wander out into the winter wonderland and get some food.
