wisdomeagle[spoilers for a minor point in the ending of the Dwarf Commoner story, tw for parental alcoholism]
So... (ftr, my character is named Nat). So Nat's mom is an alcoholic. When Nat leaves Dust Town, she thinks about saying goodbye to her mom and sister Rica says, don't bother, she's passed out drunk.
So Nat goes away, becomes a hero, etc.etc., and when she encounters Rica again Rica tells her that because of her fame and fortune and being a hero and the corresponding rise in status for the family, Mom has stopped drinking.
ALCOHOLISM DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT BIOWARE.
