A friend of mine would almost certainly know, but she's offline until the end of the Sabbath. So if you don't have an answer by then, I can ask her!

So, I don't know if it's still relevant, but my friend said that she doesn't do much cotton (mostly wool, I think), so she's not sure. However, she suggested asking at handspinning, which she's a member of. Hope you figure it out!

My guess? Immerse in cool/cold water, rinse gently, and allow to air-dry. That should prevent matting or shrinking of the fibers, and get the milk out.
