kink bingo, my thoughts let me show you them
[rated nc-17, no serious spoilers, way tmi. Please append "IN FICTION" to every time I say "my kink" or "not my kink"]
Obviously my FIRST thought is to go for blackout, because I am an overachiever. If I were going for a single line bingo (not through the center), the line on the far right (exhibitionism, crossdressing, humiliation, suspension, temperature play) or the bottom (kama sutra/extreme positions, nippleplay, pegging, penance/punishment, and temperature play) would probably be easiest for me. That said:
Some of these kinks I read as "soft" -- the kind of thing I could write in many pairings without really thinking about it. These include:
+pegging (superfun in any het pairing. Have written it for Willow/Xander)
+nippleplay (so long as this is PLAY and not TORTURE, I can't even see the kink.)
+rough sex (I mean, yeah. Probably wouldn't work for Willow/Tara or Kaylee/Inara, but anything else? Hello, easy.)
+bondage (misc) (Fun and easy. I have Ideas about the misc. bondage, too. How much do I want to write Circleverse!OT4 with magical plant-yarn-lightning-metal shackles? SO MUCH.)
+bruising or bitemarks (See, stuff that doesn't involve toys seems like it would be easy enough to do accidentally, or spur of the moment, even pairings that basically ping as vanilla. Plus, what with the vampires, bitemarks = canon kink.)
+gags (One of those things that vanilla couples could add to sex for mild kink. I love the idea of super-talky characters being gagged, too. Like, when you lose the ability to quip, WHAT DO YOU DO?)
+orgy (that's really just OT+++, yeah?)
+object penetration (toys -- worn under clothes). (Any femslash pairing, or het [see above, pegging]. Also, given current genderbendy fascination, HOT.)
+crossdressing (outerwear) (Easy. Fun. Again, genderbendy stuff is what I'm most looking forward to.)
More difficult simply because it's Not My Kink, not for any inherent value:
+drugs (Just Not My Kink. I might try this with canon drug use, e.g. Beka+flash, or John+distilate of laqua, or House+Vicodin. Etc. I like the idea of inhibitions being loosened, too, and the ooc behavior, and the super large regrets in the morning.)
+Rimming/felching (Nice in theory, kind of squicks me in practice. Hard to convey the hot of things that make me go O_o I guess. Will probably go for some boyslash pairing, with the rimming part.)
+Glory holes (this is actually way harder than it looks. Anonymous sex isn't something I'm really interested in writing about, and this is mostly a boyslash kink, and anonymous boyslash is something I'm really not into. I'm trying to think of ways to translate it into other kinds of pairings.)
+Temperature play. (Yeah. I have ideas about how to do this, involving canons where characters have different standard body temperatures [Scorpy/Braca?!], but in regular old human-verse, I can't think of anywhere I'd like to do it.)
+Exhibitionism (This is kind of creepy because it can be noncon for the people observing. Depends on the circumstances. Even though emotional exhibitionism is a hobby of mine, this still freaks me out a little.)
+Double penetration (two holes) (This doesn't squick me so much as the way it's phrased squicks me. I mean, I'm sure I've written OT3 that has exactly this going on, but the idea of phrasing it like that... and "holes." Um, yeah.)
+Suspension (see below, extreme positions)
+kama sutra (extreme positions) (This is either/or. The "Let's go through the Kama Sutra to liven up our sex life" makes me wrinkle my nose; I'm really less interested in established couples trying to spice up their sex life than in random, unplanned encounters of hot. That said, I'm trying to figure out how "extreme" is extreme. I mean, do they have to be standing on their heads/flying upside down/daisy chaining from a tight rope over a bed of nails? Or can it be like, reverse cowgirl? (I will probably do standing-on-her-head cunnilingus, which wikipedia informed me of. Because the idea makes me giggle, mostly.))

Anyway I can think of this, it comes out more ritualized and humiliation-oriented than what I'd like -- e.g. all the cheerleaders or all the football players fucking someone else for revenge/as a display of domination, whatever. If it's a canonically... submissive-r character, then I feel really awkward about this, and if it's a canon dom(me) then I hate to humiliate hir like this. Will have to contemplate harder.)
+Amputee fetishism. (As pointed out, there are fandoms with canon amputees -- Lindsey in AtS, Wormtail -- the problem is, I can't think of any where I actually perv on the amputee characters. And it's one of those things that is like just this side of NOT OKAY because of the ablism/Othering. I'm thinking I might try it with Nog (and Jake, probably). I think when I am fond of the character to start with, it feels less creepy to fetishize his/her disability. ... no, still creepy when phrased like that. I think this is one of those where I'll never make it sexy for me; it has to be hot-because-it's-hot-for-the-characters.)
Things that kind of ARE my kink but that I'm not sure how to write them because it's SO MUCH TMI:
+Roleplay/AU (master/slave). The idea of actual slavery is just squicky and I don't really understand the kink. I mean, I don't get why you'd have a sex slave if not to, you know, have sex with them. I'm much more sold on 24/7. Of course, the pairing that I most want this to be is McKay/Weir. YES I KNOW. I'm way behind on canon and I'm like the only person in the world who wants this dynamic more than LIFE. But I really, really do.
+Obedience
+penance/punishment.
Okay, all of those three are in this category for me, and there are so few things where I actually feel capable of writing them. Even though it's so hot, it feels really wrong. I can write McGonagall/Hermione. I can write Weir/McKay. Everything else I kind of end up switching the dynamic (so Buffy or Willow tops Giles) and that's... great, but why do I always switch it to make it more palatable for my politics and less for my libido? Anyhow. All those things I can write and are really exciting but really scary because... yeah.
And finally:
+Genital Torture
omgwtfbbq. It's not like the "not my kink" things, because this kind of is. But there are just so few pairings where I can see this happening. It's like... extreme kink suits so few characters. Maybe Faith/Wesley, maybe the Fanged Four, maybe Scorpius/Braca. But most characters I see as just way too vanilla for this.
And throughout I kind of have to walk the line between "it's a playground where these characters share names with canon characters" and "actual canon compliance."
It's kind of exciting. But scary. And actual writing things is haaaard.
