Okay, so in Meridian, Daniel got hit with a lethal dose of radiation because while saving a world (not his own). While he was on the hospital bed, dying, he saw this glowy!alien, Oma Desala (if you saw Maternal Instinct, you should recognize her as Mother Nature). So Oma's "ascended" and whatnot, and she says Daniel can ascend too if he releases his burden and believes he's worthy. Angst ensuses. Sam and then Jacob Carter try to heal Daniel with a Goa'uld healing device. While Jacob is doing this, Daniel gets into Jack's head and tells him to tell Jacob to stop. Jack does so, Jacob stops, and Daniel goes glowy! The episode ends with him saying goodbye to Jack in the gateroom.
Then you saw Revelations.
S6: Jonas Quinn (bastard) joins SG-1. Daniel visits Jack while he's being tortured and Teal'c while he's half-dead, and he (presumably) saves their lives.
Full Circle, the last episode of S6: Daniel tells Jack about the Eye of Ra, blah blah woof woof, he goes face-to-face with Anubis (cliched, over-the-top bad guy, to quote Jack) but Oma whisks him away before he can defeat him. SG-1 goes home. To be continued. Roll credits.
Fallen and Homecoming: Best scene ever, Daniel gets de-glowed and lands naked (naked!Daniel is a thing of wonder and a joy to behold). He can't remember a thing about anything. SG-1 finds him through an extremely bizarre coincidence, there are some great
