I'm most struck by Hermione's [and how it's odd to type her name now that people have started calling me by that name on my own LJ] craving for knowledge, how she's never experienced this (a?) punishment, how her imaginings of it are so vague (reminding the reader that this is the first book, that the kids are only 11 years old). I'm also impressed that you kept it almost entirely nonsexual, instead of jumping to the instant gratification teh hawt kinkie sexxors noww place.
