Maybe Sam is straight. I mean... it's POSSIBLE. Anything is POSSIBLE. Oh... I hope this Sam-backstory is ambiguous enough; it's trying to be Sam/Daniel backstory but it makes more sense as Jack/Sam backstory but I'm NOT writing Jack/Sam! Kaylee! I SAID stop flirting with Inara.
Okay. Okay, you win. If you can't be with Sam, you can have the Inara-subtext. It's not like I can very well stop you, is it?
+"Shining Time Station" Weir is blonde because I have this fascination with the idea of blonde!Weir, with the way there are two characters and there's continuity between them but they are different; they look different; they have different personalities. And yet somehow they're the "same character" -- it's something that can really ONLY be explored in fanfic; it's an issue that doesn't come up in other kinds of writing... so I was determined, for a time, to write all pre-S1/8 Weir as blonde, although it's tricksy with backstory and all. Mostly, I want to experiment in writing the character -- I wrote Sam/Weir fic before there *was* brunette!Weir, and I don't want to lose that character just because there's another one of the same name.
