I'm looking for a favorite het, slash, and femslash pairing from each show. I think that should help me considerably in choosing "favorites"

Andromeda (Through sheer tenacity, malnpudl got Tyr/Harper. This pairing has lots of issues and probably would never happen, but it's oh so pretty. I love the way they connect in canon, despite the Huge Issues, and the grudging respect they have for each other. Can you get the femslash and het before she malnpudl does?)


Completed Fandoms
Buffy: the Vampire Slayer (azarsuerte correctly guessed Willow/Tara. I love them because they're a canon femslash relationship and they're sweet and shy and smart and they fit together just right. azarsuerte also guessed Willow/Giles. I love them because they're smart and frelled, bright and bookish, dark and decaying, because it's cross-gen, because Willow had a crush on Giles and Giles couldn't save Willow. Boyslash is Giles/Ethan, as cadence_k astutely surmied. I love the history between them, the obvious hints of sexual tension, and mostly I love the Ethan's present-day love of Giles, doomed to be unrequited, and the way Ethan symbolizes part of himself that Giles doesn't like.)

Angel: the Series (azarsuerte got the crossover femslash. It's Fred/Willow. They're pretty and witty and gay, smart, a scientist with training in magic and a witch with a background in physics, and they're sweet and fluffy and capable of murder. malnpudl got the het: it's Fred/Wesley I love them for the way they're smart and broken, sweet and damaged, loving and damned, the way they never *quite* make it work. malnpudl also got the boyslash: Angel/Wesley. Because Angel. Drinks. From. Wes's. Arm. The end.)

Stargate: Atlantis (azarsuerte got the crossover femslash! It's Sam/Weir and I love them because they're smart and strong but also breakable, because they didn't get a chance but could have clicked exactly right and becasue, as Azar points out, they're the femslashy version of McWeir. Needless to say, azarsuerte also got the het pairing, McKay/Weir. I love them because... they are THE OTP? Because McKay loves Weir so much and they treat each other with respect, because they're friends and they work together and understand each other just so. Boyslash goes to malnpudl! It's Sheppard/Ford, and I love it because Ford is so very clearly whipped, because he loves and respects and admires Sheppard, because he *wants* him and can't have him and is the perfect little sub when he's around.)

Firefly (no boyslash. rogueslayer452 correctly guessed Kaylee/Inara. I love Kaylee's crush on Inara, the beautiful, hair-brushing friendship, the gentle sensuality, the way they're so different but mesh so well. cadence_k guessed the hetcestuous pairing Simon/River. God, Simon loves her so much, and has sacrificed so much for her, and they're at the center of each other's universes, and they tease and snark and he understands her better than anyone else, and she relies on him so much.)

Dark Angel. (rogueslayer452 correctly guessed Max/Logan. I love them because of the way they dance around each other in S1, loving each other but afraid and issue-filled and not wanting to commit or to admit that they need each other. malnpudl guessed the femslashily delightful Max/Original Cindy. They're wonderful because they're girlfriends in the classic sense, and they will defend each other to the death, and they share everything with each other. After some thought, malnpudl got the boyslash as well! It's Logan/Bling and it's solely based on the prettiness, and the fact that while the Ultimate Slash Object, Logan has no one to top him in this fandom. Besides, did I mention the pretty? And uh, they work out together. Rawr.)

As Time Goes By (sangerin went for the hat trick on this one [which is lucky, as I don't know if anyone else on my flist watches the show.] Jean/Lionel is the het, and I honestly don't know that I need to elaborate. Jean. Lionel. They're gorgeous and they're in love and they click just right and they're snarky and did I mention pretty, and they mellow each other out, and... *gah*. The femslash is Sandy/Judi, which is low-key and cute and friendly. The boyslash is Lionel/Alistair, just for kicks, because they drive each other nuts and don't understand each other but put up with each other anyhow.)

Greeleyverse (no femslash. sangerin guessed Blackie/Sean. Oh, how I love this pairing. It hits several kinks hard, especially the angsty guilty priest!sex. They're so comfortable together, both smart and witty, and, well, Blackie feels compelled to tell us how handsome Sean is and how's he's dressed every time he enters the room Yeah. And the het pairing, also guessed by sangerin, is Mary-Kate/Joe. Their marriage is sweet and funny, and the way Joe understands Mary-Kate deep down is simply delicious.)

Harry Potter (no het, but malnpudl got the femslash! It's the kink-hitting Hermione/McGonagall! Hermione admires McGonagall so obviously, and respects her, and loves the class she teaches, and c'mon, it's teacher-kink! silly_cleo got the boyslash. It's joint Christmas presents and shared memories: Sirius/Remus)

Anne of Green Gables series (azarsuerte guessed Rilla/Walter, and she's right! I love them because of the tragedy and the love and the OMG sweetness and that walk in the garden and... because I'm going to hell. azarsuerte also got the other incest, Matthew/Marilla. Because I think that many years together and that much understanding sort of makes the ship go without saying. azarsuerte and inlovewithnight got Anne/Diana at the same time. They are wonderful sweet bosom friends and swear undying love. inlovewithnight also got Anne/Gilbert. Because they are.... Anne/Gilbert, and there are seven books devoted to their love. silly_cleo got the last femslash! It's Anne/Little Elizabeth, and if Elizabeth's crush on Anne doesn't hit all my kinks, I don't know what does.)

Bibleship (sangerin got the girlslash AND the boyslash. Girlslash is Ruth/Naomi. Whither thou goest, I will go. For goodness' sake, their love poem is read at weddings and there's an age differential. What's not to love? The boyslash is David/Jonathan. Great was your love to me, surpassing the love of women. Childhood friendship, family differences... tragic and star-crossed and right. silly_cleo figured out the het... it's Jesus/Mary Magdalene, and I love it ever so. Since it's my senior thesis topic, I shan't elaborate at the moment. Just... spiritual and sexual and meaningful.)

Farscape (silly_cleo got Scorpy/Braca. 'Cos mmm, so whipped, so much subservience and desire and wrongness and GAH. Dark and semi-con and Braca, my darling Braca. silly_cleo got the het, too. It's Chiana/D'Argo and while I love J/A, the way C/D is real with the infidelity and jealousy and recovering and learning how to become friends before they give the 'ship another go makes them my favorite of the moment. My favorite femslash, as silly_cleo finally figured out, is Aeryn/Zhaan. Black and blue, warrior and priest, they begin their journeys so differently, but eventually come to love and understand each other, and Zhaan sacrifices herself for Aeryn. LOVE!)

Baby-Sitters Club (no boyslash. sangerin guessed these both! The femslash is Mary Anne/Dawn, who are best friends from the day they meet, and so full of angst and jealousy and growing apart and learning to live together and mmm. And the other inhabitants of the old farmhouse, Richard Spier/Sharon Schafer, are my recently acquired het OTP. It's all about the high school love rekindled.)

Lord of the Rings (no femslash, so two boyslash instead. silly_cleo got both boyslash. They are Sam/Frodo with the servant-kink and the love and the loyalty and the way Sam keeps Frodo going through it all and how they are LOVE, and Legolas/Gimli, who ride off into the sunset arguing about trees and caves. With a little encouragement and a hint, silly_cleo got the het. It's Tom Bombadil/Goldberry, and mostly it's just 'cos it's a bookverse pairing, but they're shiny and happy and he sings! I love Bombadil. And I once had a doll named Goldberry, that my dad named for me.)

Stargate: SG-1 (rogueslayer452 correctly guessed Jack/Daniel. I love them because of the snark and the pretty and the way they always come back to each other. azarsuerte got Sam/Daniel. I love them because they're pretty and sexy and friends and smart and they work together so well! The obscure femslash pairing, guessed by the oh so clever malnpudl, is Sam/Catherine. Not only does it hit my May-December kink while remaining totally legal, it's... Sam/Catherine! Warm and soft and hugs and understanding. It also happens to be the first rare pairing I wrote for this fandom, which gives it a very special place in my heart.)
