It's fun to analyze one's own fic, I've found. Especially when it can help with ideas for sequels... ::hints innocently::
That said, I'm not entirely sure how happy I am with how callous McKay turned out. It was the bloody McKay ficathon, and my previously silent Ford!muse took over. I don't know if anything shows through about how McKay might be feeling about... well, about any of it. I have a tendancy to get totally into one character's head and leave the reader with no clue why the other characters do what they do.
Interesting. Well, I could read enough that I caught the punishment thing, if that helps, and McKay certainly reacted the way that Ford figured he would... I have to agree that I don't think McKay would be that callous, either, though. Not normally, anyway, but don't forget he was mad--really, really mad, even--and I can actually totally buy McKay doing this as a total punishment thing, that if Ford had only been honest, rather than sneaking around, McKay would have been a lot warmer and welcoming, rather than kind of rubbing Ford's own homosexuality in his face.
So, I can also see that McKay will indeed eventually recriprocate--once he twigs that Ford really wants this, or him, or even once Ford is willing to admit that what they do together even exists, you know?
