/end mini-drama enacted while the world slept.
New tickets purchased to fly from wrong airport to right airport. *waves goodbye to money* *waves goodbye to ten hours of vacation* *weeps*
New countdown: eleven days, nine hours, thirty-seven minutes.

Meanwhile, where is your layover? It's important to know your airports; some of them take more time to maneuver through then others.

My layovers are in Charlotte, Cincinnati, and Detroit.

I hate flying so much.

I'm sorry you don't like flying. I hope it's not too traumatic for you.
Ooh, BTW, if you're going Southwest (somehow they fly the northeast; somehow it doesn't seem right) make sure to save any unopened parts of your little cardboard snack-pack with the Teddy Grahams, Oreos and Cheese Ritz. I realized those are the perfect little things to give to charity for the needy.
I had some leftover packages with me in San Fran last month when Ma and I were walking around, looking for a hotel, and this really kind man was selling a newsletter written by/about the homeless problem in San Fran, and all the proceeds went to help the homeless people, and he obviously had a vested interest in helping the homeless, so after buying the newsletter I gave him my package of Cheese Ritz and told him to give them to someone who was hungry and apologized for not having more, and he said that every little bit helps and bless you. So Ma and I were a ways away, trying to figure out the best plan for finding a hotel, and I glanced over and saw the guy eating the crackers and I realized how hungry he must be and how close I'd come to just throwing the crackers away because I didn't plan on eating them. So I looked in my bag and found the Oreos, which I'd been planning on saving for myself, and I gave them to him also, because I could always buy my own Oreos if I really wanted some, but he needed something to eat just then.
The relevence of all this? Later, looking back, I realized that so many of those little packages of sealed foods must be thrown out every day. There's health laws against giving the homeless leftover food that's been exposed to the elements (Ma and I checked once when we saw, at closing time at a Boston Market, over 5 perfectly good cooked chickens thrown in the trash), but these foods are sealed, so there's no liability issue on the part of the donor, and it would be strictly voluntary, say like a big collection box outside of gates for people coming off the plane to drop off their unopened snacks.
I'm going to do that someday, organize just such a thing. I really am.
But in the meantime, the reason I'm boring you with all this info is, since you're going to be flying on so many flights, I thought maybe if the mood struck you you could hold on to some of your unopened snacks and give them to someone you see who looks like they could use some food.
None of this is actually relevent, since you probably won't be going Southwest anyway, so basically I'm sorry to have taken up so much of your journal space. I'll shut up now.
