[accomplished] Dragon Age

In a matter of speaking. I completed my first Dragon Age: Origins playthrough. (I started the game in February but stopped for several months, but work is over for the rest of the year and apparently what I really wanted to do was try to make Claudia Black's character have sex with me.)

[details, spoilery for the endgame]

I played as a female human mage, Solana. I did not make Morrigan have sex with me, despite amping her approval all the way up to 98. When she calls you "sister" it's kind of all over. Suspect Morrigan might be functionally straight in the game. [Whatever, the actual Morrigan who exists in my BRAIN is fully queer.]

I tried not to have romance with Alistair but failed. (Pretty sad, I know.) I only clicked two shippy dialogue tags, but I'd gotten his approval up high and I was a girl and he's apparently into that so sigh.

I did the "Dark Promise" ending and Morrigan had sex with Alistair and they made a baby that Morrigan will raise in what I'm sure is a healthy functional way. :)

The endgame summary tells me that Alistair eventually joins Solana, "his love" on her adventures, but what it doesn't say is that they both go in search of Morrigan so they can have terrible terrible poly adventures (terrible because Morrigan and Old God baby. And because Morrigan and Alistair love via snarking).

So I really enjoyed it! I think my favorite of the recruitment quests was A Paragon of Her Kind (golems! creepy tentacled brood mother! Totes casually mentioned effed up f/f relationship between Branka and... one of her fellow travelers.)

I also liked the Fade adventure in the circle tower and the fact that Zevran was enthrall to his nightmare and Wynne was enthrall to her nightmare and Morrigan was all, "Fuck you, demon, I don't care how hard you slap me; you aren't my mom." ♥Morrigan♥ (Not sure if this was a function of Morrigan being innately awesome or her willpower/mental resistance score, but it was still pretty awesome.)

I made Solana an arcane healer, which meant that by the time we recruited Wynne, Wynne's defensive mage powers were pretty redundant. :/ (I also suspect I can't get Wynne into bed either regardless of how much I love her oh God so pretty. ~hearteyes~

My preferred battle party was Solana, Morrigan, Alistair, and Zevran, until Zevran UP AND ABANDONED US AND THEN GOT KILLED AND ALL WE GOT WAS HIS EQUIPMENT. Then I had no rogue (since I failed to recruit the other rogue I spotted; I forget her name) and was sure that ALL the best loot was in locked boxes.

++

I've already started my second playthrough. :)

Her name is Nat, she's a rogue dwarf from Dust Town, and I already adore her. I liked Solana (human mage from playthrough one), but I adore Nat. We're gonna have good times. (Or as Nat says, "Let's get started.")

And maybe I'll also accomplish non-video game related things too? *hopeful*
