I'm so pleased that it turned out you did indeed write this story, because then I know that it's not by chance that a story was produced which resonated with me so deeply. I'm really deeply touched not only by how great a story it is, but the act of friendship in drawing on what you know about me so deeply and so truly.

I'm fascinated by how deftly you create this universe, not the Firefly-verse--I should have known from the courtesan line that something was up--but not the historical middle East either (nor would I want it to be!) but a fairy tale in-between place that you make work in a way only you could.
