I.
you.
guys.
WHAT.

I had till this minute not IMDb'd Enrico Colantoni (plays Keith on VMars) but I just did to look up how to spell his name so I could guh over him, and then for interest looked through roles and he played Burke in the SG-1 episode "Evolution part 2." BURKE, you guys. Burke who I have been saying since approximately forever (okay, I said it once, when I first last and only saw the episode) should have OTP with Jack.

I. I really need to watch Evolution II again, like right now, and get right on the writing Jack/Burke thing. [And this is a really blatant and obvious and interesting example of, isn't it amazing how much more interesting and sexually desirable characters can become when their actors play other characters who are interesting and attractive for different reasons? I'm sure this isn't just me, right? Like how the first time I saw American Beauty, I in no way realized it was all about the tragedy of That Woman Who Lived Across The Street who was so unhappy and lost and empty and brilliantly acted by Allison Janney (plays CJ Cregg on West Wing)]

OMG. JACK/BURKEOTPFORTEHWIN.

(I am torn between this icon and the Keith one, but it is traditional to use this icon for discoveries like this, so there we are.)

I could go with Jack/Burke as a drunken one night stand. Now if you want alternate to Jack/Daniel, then I'd have to go with Jack/Maybourne :-)

I've loved Enrico to pieces ever since he played Frank on Murphy Brown

The stick is blue. < pause > < pause > The dog barks at midnight!!!! The stick is blue! What the hell does that mean.

I just IMDB'd him too. He was in Galaxy Quest! I love that movie.

Of course, he was the leader of the aliens if I remember correctly.
Funny how different the same person can look and act.

he played Burke in the SG-1 episode "Evolution part 2."

Wait, you didn't already know that? I recognised him from Just Shoot Me!, then recognised him again when I first saw VMars.

But to be fair, I don't even remember Allison Janney being in American Beauty. I remembered that she was on 10 Things I Hate About You -- a fun, fun movie :)

Was she the guidance counselor who was writing porn at work? It's been years since I saw that movie, and I didn't know who she was then.

Although I am a strict J/D OTPer I had to mention this dialogue. In Evolution II:

BURKE says, "... Watch your step ladies, we're not in Minnesota."
O'NEILL says, "Easy."

Maybe tells me there's a little backstory here? Ladies?
